Rando internet picture. Not the real thing.
!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!
Yes, I have seen, on multiple occasions, a tiny yellow truck fully laden with passengers making the rounds in the Global Taxi fleet. Even in extended cab form, it seems as though they sought out the least suitable tool for the job.
And I first saw this circa 2008, long before the truck could be justified as “the cheapest thing they could find.”

Why would anyone use a pickup as a taxi? That seems like a really poor vehicle choice.

I haven’t seen it in a while, but for several years there was somebody around here driving a Mark IV Jetta with a stick, as a taxi. I can’t imagine the running costs of maintaining an old VW in a taxi fleet.

I don’t see the problem here.
Seriously, we have a Frontier and a Colorado in the fleet at work, and the Frontier is always my first pick when it’s available. It’s less chunky, has better visibility, simpler interior, and no touchscreen bullshit . I’d rather have a F rontier than any of its current competitor trucks.
The only downsides to the one I drive are the 4-cyl engine, auto transmission, and the boring color (silver). I’d take yellow in a heartbeat!
